Episode 2 continues the story in the magical kingdom of Daeho, where forbidden sorcery, family secrets, and political tension shape everyone’s fate. After discovering that the servant girl Mu-deok is actually the soul of the feared assassin Naksu, Jang Uk becomes determined to make her his master.
Although trapped in a weak body and unable to use her former power, Mu-deok/Naksu still possesses the knowledge and instincts of an elite mage. Jang Uk recognizes that she is the only person who can teach him how to unlock the potential that has been denied to him his entire life.
At first, Mu-deok refuses to help him. She sees Jang Uk as spoiled, reckless, and more trouble than he is worth. Her priority is survival and finding a way to regain her powers, not training an inexperienced nobleman. However, Jang Uk refuses to give up and continues following her, insisting she has no better option than to work with him.
Meanwhile, Jang Uk’s sealed energy gate remains the center of his frustration. Born into the prestigious Jang family, he has always been blocked from learning magic because of the scandal surrounding his birth. While others train and gain status, he is treated as an outsider in his own household.
The episode also explores the growing political atmosphere in Daeho. Powerful mage families monitor Jang Uk’s actions closely, knowing that any change in his condition could disturb old secrets. Hidden alliances and rivalries continue to build beneath the surface.
As Mu-deok spends more time around Jang Uk, she begins to realize that beneath his carefree and stubborn personality is someone deeply lonely and desperate to choose his own future. He does not simply want power—he wants freedom.
Jang Uk pushes Mu-deok to test him, and she begins harsh training methods despite mocking his weakness. Rather than teaching gently, she challenges him physically and mentally, forcing him to confront how unprepared he truly is.
Elsewhere, other important figures in Daeho are introduced more clearly. Seo Yul, calm and gifted, notices Mu-deok and senses something familiar about her. His quiet connection to Naksu hints at unresolved emotions from the past. Crown Prince Go Won also appears as a proud and competitive royal figure whose path will soon cross with Jang Uk.
The relationship between Jang Uk and Mu-deok becomes the heart of the episode. Their conversations are filled with sarcasm, arguments, and mutual distrust, yet they slowly begin respecting each other. She sees determination in him, while he sees the powerful warrior still hidden inside her weakened body.
By the end of the episode, Mu-deok reluctantly accepts the possibility of becoming Jang Uk’s master. Their unusual partnership officially begins: a fallen assassin who has lost her strength and a noble heir who has never been allowed to use his own.
Episode 2 deepens the emotional stakes of the story while strengthening the central mentor-student dynamic. It balances humor, tension, character growth, and political intrigue, setting the stage for Jang Uk’s transformation.
