Jang Uk Rescues Bu-yeon

The episode begins immediately after the dramatic ending of Episode 1. Bu-yeon suddenly appears before Jang Uk after mysteriously being transported to him by the magical energy surrounding them.

Uk is confused but intrigued. Although he still believes Nak-su is dead, he cannot ignore the strange familiarity he feels whenever Bu-yeon is near. She openly begs him to save her from her arranged marriage and help her escape Jinyowon permanently.

At first, Uk refuses to become emotionally involved. He has spent three years shutting himself off from others, convinced that attachment only leads to pain. However, Bu-yeon’s persistence and unpredictable personality slowly begin breaking through his cold exterior.

Bu-yeon Moves Into Jang Uk’s House

To protect her temporarily, Uk allows Bu-yeon to stay at his residence. This creates many humorous and emotionally charged scenes because the two constantly clash with one another.

Bu-yeon quickly notices how lonely Uk’s life has become. His large home feels empty and lifeless, reflecting his emotional state since Nak-su’s death. Unlike everyone else around him, Bu-yeon is unafraid to challenge him or tease him.

Their chemistry becomes increasingly obvious:

• Bu-yeon speaks casually to Uk instead of treating him like a feared hero.
• Uk secretly watches over her despite pretending not to care.
• Small gestures begin reminding viewers of Uk and Nak-su’s old relationship from Season 1.

Seo Yul’s Dangerous Secret

The episode also focuses on Seo Yul, who is hiding a deadly secret. During the events of Season 1, he became infected with a blood parasite connected to soul shifting magic. The parasite slowly causes him intense pain and could eventually kill him.

Yul hides his condition from his friends while continuing his duties calmly. However, his health visibly worsens throughout the episode.

This storyline adds emotional tension because Yul still carries unresolved feelings for Nak-su. Seeing Bu-yeon, who looks exactly like Nak-su, deeply unsettles him.

Jin Mu’s Manipulation Continues

Jin Mu remains one of the major threats behind the scenes. Although many people blame him for past tragedies, he still maintains influence through political manipulation.

He begins taking interest in Bu-yeon again, especially after noticing unusual magical reactions surrounding her. Jin Mu suspects that Nak-su’s soul may still exist inside her body.

Meanwhile, the royal family continues worrying about the power of the Ice Stone inside Jang Uk. His growing strength makes both allies and enemies uneasy.

Magical Signs of Nak-su’s Return

Several important scenes hint that Bu-yeon is not simply Jin Bu-yeon:

• She instinctively reacts like Nak-su during moments of danger.
• Familiar emotional expressions return when she interacts with Uk.
• Uk unconsciously trusts her more than anyone else.
• Magical relics respond strangely to her energy.

One especially meaningful moment occurs when Bu-yeon draws Uk’s sword. In Season 1, Nak-su shared a deep connection with Uk’s powers and weaponry, so the scene strongly suggests their bond still exists beneath the surface.

Romance Begins to Reawaken

The emotional heart of the episode is the slow rebuilding of intimacy between Uk and Bu-yeon.

Uk tries convincing himself she is nothing more than a troublesome stranger, yet he repeatedly protects her:

The Ending

Near the end of the episode, Bu-yeon becomes increasingly determined not to return to Jinyowon or proceed with the arranged marriage.

Uk finally begins softening toward her, though he still refuses to fully admit his feelings or suspicions.

The episode closes with growing hints that fate is pulling them together again no matter how much Uk tries resisting it. At the same time, enemies around them are beginning to realize that Nak-su’s soul may not have disappeared after all.
